Healthy Heat

Saunas originated in Finland. It is a bath house built from wood with chimney. It is a closed room, which produces steam bath from heated stones and water. Benches are made of wood too. Heat temperatures are above 80 degrees Celsius or 200 degrees Fahrenheit. Bathers need to take off their clothes in order for the steam to penetrate the skin and body. Separate steam room for men and separate room for women. First-timers can initially stay in a sauna for 10 minutes and can work up their way to 20 minutes by a minimal increase in time. Steam baths have been said to have health benefits on our body’s blood circulation so it is very much safe to do. Since heat is produced, it promotes sweating that gets rid of other toxins in our body, toxins that are hard to reach, thus our body is cleansed.
